WPC Wall Cladding Installation:

Wall Preparations

  1. The requirements of the wall: Generally speaking, the wall for installing wall cladding mainly falls into two categories, one for concrete, brick or block wall, and the other for the wooden wall. For concrete, brick or block wall, before installation, it is required to paint a layer of cement mortar or waterproof mortar on the surface. The intensity and flatness of the wall should satisfy the construction inspection rules. In combination with other materials, such as stone or tile, you have to check whether or not the top and waistline of these materials remains horizontal. You have to make some adjustments if it can not meet the requirements. For wooden structure wall, it is recommended to install or paint a layer of waterproof material.
  2. The requirements of the screw: Most of the wall cladding are installed on those walls which are made of concrete, brick or block. In order to ensure that the joists are firmly installed on the wall, screws provided by Zare should be used to fix the joist. As to the wooden structure wall, you can use self-tapping screws to fix the wallboard directly. However, we must ensure that the wall is strong enough to be installed.

Installing the Joist

Fixed Position : According to the construction design paper, mark the location of the joists. The length and spacing: The length of a single joist should not exceed 2m. As to parallel joists, the distance of 35-40cm is generally recommended, and it also can be shortened in accordance with specific circumstances. However, the extension of long distance is not recommended for it will be likely to result in deformation in the panel. (See diagram 4) Vertical spacing between the joists should not be less than 1% of the length of a single joist, neither over 1.5 %.

Diagram 4

Procedures:

  1. Start to install the joists along the edge of the wall;
  2. B. Make marks on the wall which adapt to the holes of expansion screws on the joist, and then remove the joist;
  3. C. Drill holes based on the marks with churn drills. Fill with plastic expansion pipe or wooden plug into the holes, and then fix the joists, spin the screws into the holes on the joists. Make sure that the heads of the screws do not protrude the surface of the joists;
  4. D. Install the other joists as the above procedures.

Attention:

  1. The drilling depth of the wall should ensure that all parts of the expansion pipe can be filled into the wall, because neither too deep nor too shallow are appropriate. In particular, too shallow may result in unstable fixation.
  2. The gap between the hole and tube should not be too big. Less than 1/10 of the diameter of the screw is recommended.
  3. If use other materials (such as wooden joist), the head of the screw should be buried into the hole and not protrude the surface of the joist.
  4. Note that the screws must be tightened.

Installing the Wallboard

Procedures (see Diagram 5):

Diagram 5

  1. Check whether or not the quality of the installation and span meet the requirements of the design and construction;
  2. Fixation of the clips: drill holes use the Zare screws to fasten the clips on the joists, and the head of the screw should not protrude the surface of the joists. Fasten the other clips orderly. Pay attention: When fastening the clip K-6, it is suggested to use two screws. If it is inconvenient to fix the joist with two screws, you can use only one screw.
  3. The installation of wall cladding should be from the bottom to the top. when installing the first row of wall cladding, fasten the clip above the deep groove of the joists and ensure that the side a (including the screw hole) is upward ;
  4. Put the side-A of the wallboard into the side-a groove of the fixed clip;
  5. Next, put the side-B into the clip. After ensure the convex teeth of the clip contacts the cladding, fix it (the clip) on the joist with screws. And then install the first row of the wall cladding; (see Diagram 6)

    Diagram 6

  6. When installing the second row, put side-A of the wall cladding into the side-a of the clip based on the first row;

    Diagram 7

  7. Fixing the other side of the wall cladding can refer to the installation of the first row; (see Diagram 7)
  8. Install the third and forth row of wall cladding as above procedures;
  9. As the walls may be different in size, customers can cut the wall cladding according to actual needs;
  10. When installing the final row, for the beauty of the overall framework, we propose to place a gasket (thickness of about 2mm) under the side-B, then use the Zare screw to fix the wall cladding on the joists. If it is unavailable to install joists on the edge of the wall, the distance between the wall cladding and the nearest joist cannot exceed 10cm.

Note: When connecting two boards in the direction of longitudinal, it is essential to make room for expansion gap in advance. Reserved value of indoor is 4 ‰ of each board, Outdoor is 8‰, and you'd better leave the expansion gap on the joist. (see Diagram 8)
